"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Sandra Silva

andra Silva is a third year student at UConn majoring in English. She was born in Lima, Peru and raised in the United States. She is very involved in the Puerto Rican/Latin American Cultural Center on campus and is an active member of the dance group B.A.I.L.E (Bringing awareness into Latino Ethnicities). She finds no greater joy than to be able to express her culture through the art of dance. She hopes that as she continues through life, she can radiate that ideology to others so that more cultures can be openly expressed, and therefore lead to greater diversity.
